Music From The Valley Series Opens October 25

Music From The Valley, a live concert series presented at the Lycian Centre in Sugar Loaf, NY and broadcast live on WTBQ Radio opens October 25th at 8:00 PM. The four part concert series will be presented once a month for four months October & November 22nd 2008 and March 21st & April18th 2009. The series includes a wide variety of styles performed by professional players originating in the Hudson Valley. The performances at the Pavilion of the Lycian Centre will be broadcast live on WTBQ Radio 99.1 F.M. And repeated on 1110 A.M.

Opening the season on October 25nd are Michelle Hotaling and XOCH. Michelle Hotaling grew up in the commonly mispronounced town of Coxsackie, located outside of Woodstock, New York. A retro girl, from a retro town, her sound stems from classic rock of the 1970's and has been inspired by artists of the Woodstock era. Her sound blends 70's sounds with modern productions. Hating to play the genre game, Michelle says her music is in the category of a schizophonic, ethereal, purple-loving, lyrically-based, 70's-influenced, wannabe hippy dancing around in scarves and sequins to a Wurlitzer, drum loop, and wa-guitar. Or something thrown into a big genre known as pop-rock...

Singer/songwriter front-girl XOCH (pronounced “Zoach”, meaning “the goddess of flower and song”) knows how to grab her audience with huge hooks, a driving and dynamic rock/pop sound, and powerful lyrics that resonate poetically inside your head, refusing to let go. XOCH is an engaging, provocative and versatile performer, equally adept at both the intimate setting of a small acoustic performance and a balls-out full band electric concert. She has shared the stage with such national acts as Evanescence, Joan Osbourne, Pat Benatar, Spin Doctors, and others. She has performed at such famous venues as CBGB’S, The Continental, The Knitting Factory, The Bitter End, The Chance Theater, and the Hudson River Arts Festival.

November 22 an evening of Blues features the Redden Brothers Band and Danny Glover all local musicians. In March Music From The Valley present an evening of folk with Jim Lord and Project Mercury and in April the shows go all out with the premiere of Mercy Street and electronic rock opera.

Tickets are $15 for each show. For information and to order tickets call 845-469-7563 or visit the web site at www.paulellisproducer.com.
