The Air Pirates Take to the Waves
The Air Pirates Radio Theater, a unique mixture of live contemporary interactive theater and old time radio drama, will premieres its five on WTBQ radio at both 1110 AM and 99.1 FM. October 4 at 6:00 PM. Having completed a successful first season by being voted the Best Theater Troupe in the Hudson Valley by the Times Herald Record Readers’ Poll; The Air Pirates Radio Theater is opening its radio season with Herb Marks Freelance and Art by the Numbers.
The first season introduced the Herb Marks Mysteries which quickly became the trade mark of the Air Pirates. This season the company continues the adventures of the four foot two inch detective as he solves crimes from his unique perspective on the world. Fashioned after the hard-boiled detectives of the nineteen-forties Herb Marks continually saves his own skin by solving crimes in which he had no intention of being involved. Voiced by actress Jennifer Circosta, Herb’s sarcastic manner and irreverent demeanor make him a character to be reckoned with. In, Herb Marks Freelance: Art by the Numbers, Herb is drawn into the intriguing world of contemporary art where he must solve a murder in order to clear himself of the crime. The Air Pirates season continues with new shows premiering every three weeks. Two episodes of Los Tres Balceneros, the companies western begin October 11th. The second Herb Marks Freelance airs on November 22nd and Space Cadet will air on December 13th. The Air Pirates cast includes Jennifer Circosta, Brian Nieves, Kate Brannan, Tristan Bissell , Holly Gorman, Ian Murphy, Alan Andrews and Mary Lee Shorr.
The Air Pirates Radio Theater five play series is scheduled to air on WTBQ every Saturday at 6:00 PM through December. The broadcast can be heard on 1110 A.M, 99.1 F.M. or at www.wtbq. com.
