Project Mercury to Play at Music From The Valley March 21
Music From The Valley, a live concert series presented at the Lycian Centre in Sugar Loaf, NY and broadcast live on WTBQ Radio presents an evening of Acoustic Folk and Rock on March 21. The performances at the Pavilion of the Lycian Centre are broadcast live on WTBQ Radio 99.1 FM and repeated on 1110 AM. On Saturday March 21 Music From The Valley hosts an evening of music featuring the original acoustic rock sounds of Project Mercury.
The editors at Hudson Valley Magazine selected Project Mercury "Best New Band" of 2006, and they are also a favorite at Rockland Magazine. Brewing up a custom blend of acoustic rock and modern folk with traces of blues & classical, their special ingredients are three-part harmony, guitar, violin, cello and bass.
The band has been on the Hudson Valley and New Jersey music map for over 10 years. Launched by singer-songwriter-guitarist Marian Mastrorilli as a full-blown rock band, she and violinist-vocalist Charlene Donohue focused on a more audience-friendly acoustic genre. With the addition of Craig Fox on guitar and vocals and Jeanne Fox with her mad cello and bass skills, Project Mercury rocketed into a string quartet. Part of the fun of Project Mercury is the element of surprise. With a camaraderie that comes across onstage, PM is harmonious both literally and personally. Three distinct voices take turns in the spotlight and back one another creating a true acoustic rock ensemble. Opening the evening is Singer/songwriter Jim Lord whose original take on life ranges from his tongue in cheek look at superstitious doctrine and dogma to what he describes as the elusiveness of the American dream.
Tickets for the March 21 show are $15 and can be ordered by calling 845-469-7563 or on line at www.paulellisproducer.com.
Music From The Valley is a PEP production and is sponsored in part with funding from Orange County, Orange Arts and the Orange County Legislature, The Alternative Board and The Sugar Loaf Bread Co.
